Fun and Festive 4th of July Weekend Events at Lake Beauty

A fun time was had by all at the Lake Beauty Association annual boat parade held on July 3, 2010!  The Lake Association extends a hearty thanks to all of the participants and judges.  A new tradition was begun this year, with an award of a traveling trophy for the first place "Best in Show" winner.  The top three place winners received a $20 gift certificate to the 12 Mile Tavern.  Judges scored entries on theme creativity, effort in decorating and design, and enthusiasm of boaters.  Event results:

1st Place:  Kocum family (Richard and Helen)  "Splish Splash"

2nd Place:  Thieschafer family (Peter and Cheryl)  "British Surprise"

3rd Place:  Fossum family (Bob and Sandy)  "Christmas in July"

Honorable Mention:

Ziebarth family (Joyce and Gerry) "Leisure Island"

Clark family (Harry, Teri, Butch, and Marlene) "Patriotic Pontoon"

"Abe and Soldier Pontoon"

"4th of July Pontoon"

Although water fights were bountiful and fun, it should be noted that all boaters complied with the prohibition of water balloons.  Thank you for keeping our lake clean and event safe.  Broken rubber balloons can hurt the lake environment and cause injury to people when being propelled by large slingshots.  This year Morrison County, along with the DNR, issued citations to people caught throwing water balloons in boat parades.

The Boat Parade was followed by an outdoor BBQ Supper hosted by the Lake Beauty Bible Camp on its lovely lakeview lawn.  Families enjoyed a delicious meal, live music, games, and swimming at the beach.  The Lake Association extends a heartfelt thank-you to Brian Alnes and his Bible Camp staff for the generous donation.

Those at the lake on July 4th enjoyed the annual Fireworks Extravaganza, sponsored by the Lake Beauty Bible Camp.  A gorgeous and patriotic display of fireworks filled the air on a comfortable and still evening.
