The Conservation Partners Legacy (CPL) Grant Program is announcing $5.31 M in funds available to organizations to complete conservation work in MN. The CPL program is funded through the Outdoor Heritage Fund, part of the Clean Water, Land and Legacy Amendment passed by MN voters in 2008. Projects that restore, enhance or protect MN’s prairies, forests, wetlands and habitat for fish game and wildlife on public or permanently protected lands are eligible for funds. There are 2 levels of funding:
- $5,000-$25,000 in grant requests have a simplified online application and 10% required match;
- $25,001-$400,000 in grant requests have a full online application and 10-15% required match.
Applications will be accepted from August 11- September 15, 2011; information about this year’s grant requirements will be available online by August 11. Awards will be announced in November.

- Tree removal on prairie, WPA and WMA lands; MN Prairie Chicken Society
- Wetland restorations on public hunting areas; MN Waterfowl Association
- Fish habitat improvement, Rat Root River; Rainey Lake Sportfishing Club
- Wildlife habitat enhancements on public lands; MN Deer Hunters Association
- WPA land acquisition; Pheasants Forever
